I have learnt that directors use different conventions to allow the audience and viewers to know the demographic of the film. The most effective way in my opinion is the soundtrack. The soundtrack is very important in a film because it helps us solve the personality of the characters and gives background information such as age and background of the character. This means when i come to making my own opening sequence i will use a fairly catch song that people know that fits the demographic, however i may use a more serious piece of music if that fits the opening sequence better. Costumes also play a huge part of films so when i come to making mine i will prepare and plan what costumes i will need in order to make the opening scene effectively.
