Learning comment
From this task I have learnt that there is a common theme in both newer and older coming-of-age films. In older films, the narrative isn't very serious and is based around a group of people (normally). They all have a joint importance in the film and the film revolves the group, for example, The breakfast club. Its about 5 people in a detention and they learn about each others lives. However, in newer coming-of-age films, the narrative is more serious and has a meaning is based on a single character and the film revolves mostly about that character, for example, Juno. This is based entirely on one teenage girl who got pregnant and is planning on a abortion or adoption. Which is a very serious topic. I have also learnt that coming-of-age aren't new and have been around since 1967 and have developed a lot since then.
